2025 NVSBC Veteran Small Business Advocate Awards

NVSBC will host its annual Veteran Small Business Advocate Awards (formerly, the NVSBC Awards Gala) to celebrate the leadership of Federal agencies and large government prime contractors and their efforts to meet and exceed contracting goals.  The event also recognizes individual veterans, veteran-owned small businesses, and employees of veteran-owned businesses who have succeeded as businesses and demonstrated a commitment to the VOSB/SDVOSB community.

This year’s event will be emceed by Kevin FitzPatrick, Partner at The Baldwin Group, a longstanding member organization of NVSBC.  Kevin leads The Baldwin Group’s GovCon Center of Excellence and also serves as CEO of the Government Technology Insurance Company (GovTech), specializing in liability coverage for Federal and State Contractors specializing in technology and professional services.

NVSBC will recognize individuals and teams for the following categories:

Champion of Veteran Enterprise Award

Recognizes the federal agencies and large business prime contractors who have met or exceeded the 5% SDVOSB and/or the 8% VOSB contract awards goals for veteran small businesses or increased contract dollar spend since previous fiscal year.

Veteran Small Business Advocate of the Year Award

Recognizes the following who went above and beyond in advocating for SD/VOSBs.

Gordon H. Mansfield Veteran Small Business Award

Recognizes a veteran who owns and operates a successful small business, provides employment opportunities to veterans, and gives back to the veteran community in a substantial and continuous way.

Small Business of the Year

Recognizes a Veteran Owned (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) who demonstrated exemplary “Best Practices” in the federal government with a successful track record and a commitment to strengthening Veteran-owned businesses within the community.

Small Business Employee of the Year

Recognizes a Veteran Owned (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) employee who made a meaningful impact to their company and has demonstrated a commitment to the VOSB/SDVOSB community.

Awards Gala History

For over a decade, NVSBC has recognized leadership in achieving Federal contracting goals with Veteran entrepreneurs through the NVSBC Champion Awards Program.  The annual NVSBC Awards Gala demonstrates the commitment to partnership between federal agencies, large GovCon prime contractors, and Veteran small business GovCon community.
